Title
L1703 - Small plate girder underbridge near Twyford in Buckinghamshire.
Description
L1703 - The route of the London Extension dissected many acres of landowners' property. In order for the landowner to be able to get from one side of the railway to another, occupational bridges and crossings were built to provide the necessary access. Here we see one of the many such crossings on the railway, this one being near Twyford in Buckinghamshire. The bridge is small and of a plate girder construction, while the abutments are built of brick with straight wing walls. This section of the railway was built by Walter Scott & Co. between 1894 and 1899.
