Description
L1704 - Building the abutments for the overbridge that carried the road between Twyford and Claydon, Buckinghamshire, circa 1897. The tracks in the foreground are contractor's temporary rails, laid to bring men, materials and machinery to and from the construction area. This section of the Last Main Line (Contract No.6, Brackley to Quainton Road) was built by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
