L1568 - These cottages near Lutterworth were used as contractor's offices during the construction of the London Extension. On the right of the photograph is a section of contractor's railway, and beyond is a girder bridge that carries the Railway over a road. The bridge's lattice work iron parapet is a typical feature of the Last Main Line. This part of the Railway (Contract No.3 Aylestone to Rugby) was built by Topham, Jones & Railton.
