Title
L3478 - Belgrave cemetery
Description
L3478 - This photograph is taken from the vantage point of the Great Central Line as it passed through Belgrave. The town had its origins in an ancient settlement, but during the Victorian period urban expansion within both Belgrave and the city of Leicester led to land separating the two becoming built up. This section of track overlooks a small Victorian cemetery of just 5 acres, the entrance to which is found at the bottom of Red Hill Way (A563).
