Title
L3471 - Approach to Hucknall Central Station
Description
L3471 - From Annesley South Junction the line descended through 1 in 132 to 1 in 130 and levelled off for Hucknall Central station, seen here in a developmental stage. A two-arched brick and girder bridge spans two single lines, in between which lie discarded wooden sleepers. The track to the left appears to be a permanent way, yet the uneven nature of that to the right of the cutting indicates it may be a contractor's line. A signal post stand in front of the left arch of the bridge, beyond which a ticket office and single 'island' platform can be seen. This section of track was assigned to contractors Logan and Hemmingway.
