L1589 - Girder overbridge carrying the 'Banbury to Buckingham main road' over the London Extension at Finmere, Buckinghamshire (S.W.A. Newton's notes). The track in the foreground is part of the contractor's temporary railway, laid to bring men, materials and machinery to and from the construction site. This section of the Railway (Contract No.6 Brackley to Quainton Road) was constructed by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
