Title
L3376 - Plate girder bridge and Contractors Railway south of Haddenham Station, Buckinghamshire
Description
L3376 - This photograph provides an earlier view of the plate girder overbridge seen in L3372. Here the workmen have not yet begun to lay the permanent way, and contractor's lines are still in place. Beyond the bridge men are digging both the track bed and steep cutting wall on the right. A steam navvy is also being used for this purpose. Contemporary members of the public evidently shared our interest in the construction of the railways- to the right of the bridge two Victorian ladies and a child survey the action!
