Title
L3349 - Contractor's railway entering Loudwater Tunnel
Description
L3349 - This image shows two contractor's lines entering the south end of Loudwater Tunnel in Buckinghamshire. It provides a stark contrast with the aesthetically pleasing look of this section of route when complete, as shown in records L3392 and L3393. The deep cutting is freshly hewn, and has yet to be levelled and secured. Whilst the tunnel interior appears to be complete (no scaffolding can be seen) the facade for the tunnel mouth has yet to be constructed.
