Title
L1445 - Aqueduct crossing the line at Swithland, Leicestershire
Description
L1445 - Aqueduct (Bridge 346) crossing the London Extension at Swithland, Leicestershire, circa 1897. The timber frame on the far side of the cutting is a redundant part of the bridge's construction. With the permanent way laid and the ballast packed, this part of the railway is almost ready for traffic. Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton was the contractor who built this section of the Line (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone).
