L1471 - Girder overbridge with brick parapet carrying the Preston Road, Byfield, Northamptonshire, circa 1897. The track bed for the contractor's temporary railway is typically undulating. This section of the London Extension (Contract No. 5, Woodford to Brackley) was constructed by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
