Title
L1485 - Girder bridge on the site of Quorn & Woodhouse Station, Leicestershire
Description
L1485 - Girder overbridge (Bridge 342) on the site of Quorn & Woodhouse Station, Leicestershire, circa 1897. On the other side of this bridge was built the 'island platform' so typical of stations on the London Extension. Note that for contractor's rails, the tracks in the photograph are particularly well laid and maintained. This section of the Railway (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone) was built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton.
