Title
L3435 - Culvert in Barley Fields in Chetwode, Buckinghamshire
Description
L3435 - This brick arch culvert with side supports still in place is situated in Chetwode, Buckinghamshire. It carries a brook under what appears to be a recently dug embankment, which was later to form part of the Great Central Railway's route from Brackley to Quainton Road. A contractor's railway is just visible to the bottom left of the photograph. Note also the group of half - asleep navvies taking a break - proof if further was needed of the physically exhaustive nature of their work!
