Title
L3291 - Five arch viaduct at Chearsley
Description
L3291 - This five arch viaduct is located at Chearsley in Buckinghamshire, on the Great Western & Great Central Joint line. Construction work appears to be complete, but there seems to a large amount of mortar wash still on the brickwork. Note the protrusions from the viaduct parapet - these were recesses for gangers and platelayers, and allowed them to step clear of the tracks when trains approached.
