L1514 - S. W. A. Newton produced a number of portrait photographs when he was photographing the construction of the London Extension, partly to help fund his venture, but also to record the people involved with the railway. Here we see the Woodford & Hinton Station Master with his wife and five children (four boys and a girl), posing for Newton outside their railway built house. The eldest child didn't want his photograph taking, judging by the expression on his face.
