Title
L3325 - 'Bowstring' girder bridge Kingsey, Buckinghamshire
Description
L3325 - This is the large 'bowstring' girder bridge that carried the main road over the Great Western & Great Central Joint line at Kingsey, Buckinghamshire. This type of bridge was well used on the Great Central's routes into London, with examples also being found in Nottingham and Leicester. In this photograph, the bowstring spans are in place, but the bridge deck is still supported on wooden props. The trackbed is still at a rough stage, with a contractors' line on the left and a hand winch on the right.
