Title
L1515 - Contractor's Yard at St. Johns Wood, London
Description
L1515 - Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Depot at Alpha Road in St. Johns Wood, London, sometime around 1894. The photograph shows the contractor's yard and carpenters shed built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge, the contractor responsible for constructing the London section of the Railway (Contract No.7). Plenty of building materials litter the foreground and a crane or derrick can be seen to the right. The wooden shed is lettered 'Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway - Extension to London - 1894'.
