Title
L3336 - Plate girder underbridge carrying the Banbury Branch through Eydon Road, Culworth.
Description
L3336 - This photograph shows an overbridge constructed with steel plate parapets and a girder deck, situated on the Eydon Road section of the Banbury Branch. This offshoot from the London Extension provided the Great Central with a link to the Great Western Railway, and was of importance for both the transfer of freight and long distance or cross-country passenger trains. A man and a horse and cart are walking along the dirt track (Culworth High Street) from the direction of the village. A wooden signpost to the right of the photograph directs travellers to Eydon and Daventry, via what is now Appletree Road, leading off to the left.
