Title
L3333 - Coton Farm Subway in Chacombe, Northamptonshire.
Description
L3333 - This Subway, or 'Occupation Bridge' carried the Great Central Railway's Banbury Branch over the farmlands of Chacombe in Northamptonshire. The line provided a vital link between yards at Woodford and the Great Western railway and thus saw a high volume of transfer freights. The brick arched structure is near completion, with only the capstones yet to be put in place. It is unclear whether permanent tracks had been laid at the time the photograph was taken, but a rake of tipping wagons indicate some work was still in progress.
