Title
L2264 - A man at the doorway of an office building at Wotton Underwood
Description
L2264 - Looking at the two pay windows of this wooden building near Wotton Underwood, this man is presumably standing in the doorway of the contractor's wages office. The man's identity is sadly unknown, but given his smart dress he could well be the wages clerk. Many eager navvies must have filed up to these windows to receive their pay, and most would have worked for Louis P. Nott, the firm contracted to build this section of the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line (Princes Risborough to Grendon Underwood).
