L1724 - Navvies in tipping wagons travelling to their work in Leicestershire, hauled by a 0-6-0 contractor's locomotive, circa 1897. On the side of the central wagon are the initials H.L., confirming that these navvies were working for Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton, the company responsible for building Contract No.2 of the Last Main Line (Leake to Aylestone).
